People behind ETP4HPC - Gabriella Povero, Office Manager

12/09/2023

Our association is run on a day-to-day basis by our Office staff, a virtual team distributed over Europe and working either from home or hosted by an ETP4HPC member. You will certainly have heard them on our All-Members Calls or on our webinars, or perhaps met them in person at one of our General Assemblies or at ISC. The ETP4HPC just recruited two new Office staff members: discover who they are and give them a warm welcome!

Welcome to Gabriella Povero

Gabriella Povero is our new Office Manager, gradually taking over the role of Maike Gilliot over the coming months. Gabriella is new to HPC but has extensive experience in coordinating European-funded projects, so we have no doubt that she will quickly feel at home in our team and in the friendly HPC community! Gabriella is based in Italy, she is contracted from our full member Fondazione LINKS.

In her role of Office Manager, Gabriella manages the Office Team and its activities, in liaison with the Chair and the Steering Board. With the Chair and Treasurer, she defines and follows up the budget of the association. She also oversees the administrative and financial matters of the association - with the Treasurer and the accounting team. She takes part to many ETP4HPC activities, such as liaising with our partners in the European ecosystem, managing the funded projects in which ETP4HPC is involved, and generally contributing to the development of the association.

Gabriella graduated from Politecnico di Torino in Electronics Engineering. Since 2003, she has been with Istituto Superiore Mario Boella, now Fondazione LINKS, where she led the International Cooperation team in the Satellite Navigation Research Area. In this role, she coordinated several European and national projects which focused on joint research and capacity building actions as well as supporting European GNSS companies to explore new markets, in particular in Southeastern Asia. She contributed to the setup and management of the NAVIS, a joint Europe-Vietnam research centre on GNSS based at the Hanoi University of Science and Technology. Since 1997, she has been contract professor at Politecnico di Torino for courses on Signal Processing and Satellite Navigation Systems. She is now innovation manager in the Centre on Earth Observation in LINKS.
