ETP4HPC at ISC 2017, 19–21 June, Frankfurt

The 32nd edition of the ISC High Performance set a new record this year with 3200 HPC enthusiasts registered from 60 countries, a three percent increase in attendance compared to the 2016 event.

On Monday afternoon, the 19th, the exhibition was opened and ETP4HPC was at Booth # K-419 ready to network on the European HPC Ecosystem, and where members and visitors could discuss and discover more about our roadmap, the Strategic Research Agenda, hearing the latest details on the development of European HPC Technology.

Networking and collaboration kicked-off well at ISC 2017 and continued during the welcome party that evening. The following two days proved to be successful as visitors and exhibitors exchanged HPC knowledge and innovation.

The 2017 conference attendees were offered a vast choice of sessions, based on the year’s focus topics, with the conference being preceded by a day of tutorials and followed by a day of workshops. ETP4HPC hosted a workshop on Thursday 22, on ‘Industrial Use of Extreme-Scale Demonstrators’.

The 2017 Focus Topics were:

  • HPC Systems: Exascale System Developments (Architecture & Concepts); Processor Technologies for HPC and AI; Memory Outlook; Interconnects for HPC Systems; and, Programming Models (Concepts for Exascale).
  • HPC Applications & Algorithms: Life Sciences; Energy Exploration; Turbulences & Combustion; Advanced Material Science; Algorithms for Extreme Scale in Practice; and, Large Scale Engineering & Cloud Computing.
  • HPC Trends & Challenges: High Performance Visualization; Big Data Experiments & Big Data Analysis; and, Quantum Annealing for Combinatorial Optimization Problems.
  • Deep Learning Day (Changing the HPC Landscape)
  • Industrial Day (HPC for Industry)

Next year’s conference will be held once again at Forum Messe Frankfurt and will take place from June 24-28, 2018. ETP4HPC's shall be at Booth#J-5017.
