All attendees will tell you: the EuroHPC Summit 2023 was a great success! Despite the rainy weather in Göteborg, the atmosphere at the Summit was warm and friendly. The varied programme of plenary conferences and parallel sessions was much appreciated. Kudos to the EuroHPC organising team!

The EUMaster4HPC students were invited to the Summit. They participated in a team challenge, and presented demonstrations of the 6 EuroHPC supercomputers currently in operation. In their bright blue polo shirts, they were easily identifiable and the European HPC community was eager to exchange with them. By their own admission, the Summit allowed them to discover that the possibilities of HPC are even wider than they thought. What's more, they're leaving with plenty of leads for internships!

ETP4HPC held two sessions on 22 March:

  • Emerging Technologies for HPC in Europe: A Conversation on Latest Developments in Emerging Technologies.
For this well-attended session, EuroHPC had reserved the plenary room for us. Our moderators and speakers rose to the challenge and delivered a high quality session, with interesting content presented by pairs of presenters. It was a lively session, with good exchanges with the audience. It is worth noting that the content of the session was based on our SRA 5, and therefore highlighted the work of our experts.
A big thank you to the moderators Michael Malms and Maike Gilliot (ETP4HPC), and to the speakers Robert Haas (IBM Research), Tobias Becker (Maxeler), Craig Prunty (SiPearl), Marc Duranton (CEA), Estela Suarez (FZJ) and Kristel Michielsen (FZJ).
  • Towards an Autonomous European HPC Supply Chain: Showcasing EuroHPC Projects
For this session we had invited EPI, EUPEX and EUPILOT to explain their vision and their advances. The audience was particularly interested to learn more on the two pilot systems EUPEX and EUPILOT - not so well known as EPI. Thank you to the moderators Pascale Bernier-Bruna and Maike Gilliot (ETP4HPC) and to the speakers Mario Kovac (University of Zagreb), France Boilod-Cerneux (CEA), Valérie Brenner (CEA) and Carlos Puchol (BSC).
