CompBioMed is a new user-driven Centre of Excellence (CoE) in Computational Biomedicine, which nurtures and promotes the uptake and exploitation of high performance computing within the biomedical modelling community. They held their kick-off meeting on October 3-4 in London.

The meeting was opened with an address by Professor David Price, UCL Vice-Provost (Research) who underlined UCL's commitment to working with scientists in Europe and during the launch of this new CoE, Peter Coveney, its head, said that Big data needs big theory. One of many presentations was given, with Hugo Falter, Member of the Board of ETP4HPC, delivering a presentation on our association.

The project runs for three years from 1st October 2016.
