The CNRS is a public scientific and technological establishment under the administrative supervision of the French Ministry of Higher Education, Research, and Innovation. 

The 10 CNRS national institutes head about a thousand units or laboratories, active in all fields of science. 

First beneficiary of H2020, the CNRS is composed of 30,000 people including 11,000 researchers.
