ETP4HPC is the EC's partner in the HPC cPPP

We are the European Commission's partner in the contractual Public-Private Partnership (cPPP) for High-Performance Computing.

/As of Dec 2018, with the creation of EuroHPC JU (Joing Undertaking), this Partnership ceased to exist (and its work is continued by the EuroHPC Joint Undertaking)/.

The objectives of this cPPP are:

  • Develop the next generation of HPC technologies, applications and systems towards exascale
  • Achieve excellence in HPC applications delivery and use

The HPC cPPP brings together technology providers and users via the ETP4HPC Association and Centres of Excellence (CoE) in computing applications. The cPPP focuses on technologies and usage and applications (pillars a & c) of the European HPC strategy along with training, education and skills development.

The cPPP works in close cooperation with the EU co-funded PRACE e-infrastructure initiative providing access to the best supercomputing facilities and services in Europe to both industry (including SMEs) and academia, thus spanning all aspects of the value chain of HPC and all three pillars of the EC HPC strategy in Horizon 2020.

The cPPP for HPC covers two pillars of the European HPC ecosystem: technology provision and application expertise:

We are one of the two sides of the cPPP's Partnership Board, which is tasked with coordinating and monitoring the implementation of the Europan HPC Strategy. At regular Board meetings, the details of the strategy and its future implementation plans are discussed.

The parties of this cPPP are bound by a written agreement
