28/10/2022

confirmed

11am to 12pm CEST

EUMaster4HPC is the first pan-European Master for High Performance Computing (HPC), funded by the EuroHPC JU. It will train the next generation of HPC experts in Europe, with the objective to ensure that Europe has the skilled professionals needed to create socio-economic value with HPC.

Eight European universities will offer EUMaster4HPC courses as of September 2022. The eight universities are: University of Luxembourg (Luxembourg), Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya (Spain), Politecnico di Milano (Italy), Friedrich-Alexander-Universität Erlangen-Nürnberg (Germany), Sorbonne Université (France), Sofia University St. Kliment Ohridski (Bulgaria), Università della Svizzera Italiana (Switzerland), Kungliga Tekniska Hoegskolan (Sweden). As one of the contributing partners, ETP4HPC helps EUMaster4HPC access the expertise and the resources of the European HPC industry.

This webinar will first give an overview of the EUMaster4HPC programme and innovative approach.

It will then focus on an aspect of EUMaster4HPC that is particularly relevant for ETP4HPC: its strong connections with the industry.

As usual we will have a long Q&A session at the end of the webinar to allow our audience to exchange with the speakers.

Dr. Bouvry earned his undergraduate degree in Economical & Social Sciences and his Master degree in Computer Science with distinction (‘91) from the University of Namur, Belgium. He went on to obtain his Ph.D. degree ('94) in Computer Science with great distinction at the University of Grenoble (INPG), France. His research at the IMAG laboratory focussed on Mapping and scheduling task graphs onto Distributed Memory Parallel Computers. Next, he performed post-doctoral researches on coordination languages and multi-agent evolutionary computing at CWI in Amsterdam.
