ETP4HPC consults the Big Data Community

In the process of writing our SRA, we have consulted the Big Data community represented by the Big Data Value Association (BDVA). We started with a joint workshop in July 2015 in order to align the roadmaps of our organisations. Since then we have been meeting regularly and we will continue with this process whilst working on the new versions of our SRA.

This positioning paper describes the respective positions of ETP4HPC and BDVA in this collaboration.

Most recently, we jointly produced a white paper: The Technology Stacks of High Performance Computing and Big Data Computing: What they can learn from each other. This document feeds the discussion regarding current strengths and differences between the (software and hardware) stacks of BDC and HPC, and how the current strengths of one stack may address a shortcoming/need in the other stack.
